I have often wondered what the experience pool average was here on Snowest? I personally think the results of this poll will prove the majority of us here are veteran sledders...I may be wrong but please cast a vote and lets just see:noidea:

37 years, 19 years snowmobile patrol.

I remember being a kid in Iowa and my dad going out on patrol in the 70's..got me hooked after that. I am sure patrol pertained to beer drinking down at neighbor bobs house till a call came in but hey...they were still out hitting it.

My first sled was a hammedown "Rupp"

This is my 36th straight season.
Haven't missed ONE.

I started in 1976 on a 1972 Cheetah 340.

I remember riding in front and holding onto that damn steel (or alum or whatever it was) gas tank and couldn't see over the dash...and holding on for dear life. LOL

Started when I was 12 on a 1969 399 Ski Doo Olympic. No grooming, snoparks, parking permits, sled license, the man, no snowmobiling signs, skinny skiers, and the women stayed home (still does).

Did your father work for DNR or Sheriff's Dept? What did he ride for a sled.
