Looking at building a phazer for spring riding and just for a fun project. Im thinking $3000 for a budget. So post pics of anything you guys have done. Thinking about trying to fit a bigger engine in it. Has anyone done this? Also how long of a track have you seen? I was hoping to fit a 144 or bigger. Chassis mods? Looking to keep it light. Picking up a rolling chassis next Saturday.

I know this is an old post but did you complete the build? I'm doing a Phazer build and looking for ideas on what skid and track. I'm going to be using the front pogo suspension from a Vmax because it's longer and with the larger skid in I won't be nose down. Also what size riser to use and how to retain the speedo and tach?

Cool build. I'm going to do a Polaris 136 skid and 2" track on mine this summer. Then it goes under the knife to lose some weight.
You will be surprised on how much work it is. Make sure you get the ctc measurement off the donor sled for the mounting position. Its critical to have it identical so the skid doesn't bind as it works in the tunnel. Knowing the placement of the front bolt position is the hardest part. Most of the time you wont be able to use your existing front hole. You will also need to plate the inside to strengthen the tunnel.

Two inch track won't fit unless you change the front drives or redo the front of the tunnel. 1.5" is the largest that will work stock.

I'm starting the second "phase" of my Phazer build. I'm going to extend the tunnel, install a better seat and install bar risers with new bars. If anyone has any ideas on a seat that may work and bar configuration I'm all ears! I've seen some pics of a Skidoo seat installed and it looked stock but have no idea what year the seat was.

I have done this on zx chasis skidoo summits and have seen this done on many older rmk sleds and that is to recover the existing seat after adding enough new foam to match the rise at that back of the seat. This is a 3" to 4" rise and makes a world of difference. The newer foam does not absorb moisture so it is not really adding any weight. Some folks remove the storage and shorten the seat length. Just a thought.

Thats probably the way I will go. I looked at a few Phazers with add on seats and they looked awkward. I'll add foam and loose the rear storage. im just finishing up the tunnel extension and will post pics soon.

I did one a few years ago and removed the tail light section of the seat and added some higher density foam. Put reverse on it from a venture and an old summit x track
