Just curious, if you own a Patriot 850, does yours leave black/grey streaks in the snow when you grab a hand-full of throttle?

Some do and some don't.

Please let us know the year, or year of the latest flash, track length and if its chain or Quick Drive 1 or Quick Drive 2?

The goal is to figure out if the sleds with more loading on the motors, e.g. high gearing are seeing less black streaks compared to sleds with lower geared, e.g. QD2 or Chain Drive.

Format please:

1. Year
2. Flash year
3. Track Length
4. chain, QD1 or QD2

Thank you.

Chris

Same experience as zed above. Still on original plugs, had it bog twice on one ride at about 5500-6000 rpm when it had 6 hours on it, only instance ever. Clean and mean !

Should add, I run '94 chevron ethanol free, or 93 etc premium from Petro Can, and only had VES Extreme in it.
ride from 2,000 - 7,000'

Just got a new 2021 engine installed and the 2021 map, excited to see how this works.

I have one ride on the newest flash. Looks like it still leaves streaks in the snow, but runs the best it has with the new tune. I'm running 91 non ethanol. I have a buddy with a 20 with the stock tune with the non premium/Ethanol tune and it runs good.

1. 20 & 21
2. Both have the 21 flash
3. 155's
4. 20 QD1 & 21 QD2
5. Ride at 0-3000

Both are insanely dirty and both have fouling issues during cold start, once warmed up & running they run amazing and have tons of power. No bogging issues or plug fouling when riding.

Black streaks galore. Done it since day one. I have to clean my side panel with Simple Green to remove black streaks on my decals. It will foul plugs if you don't let it warm up prior to moving sled. It does run a bit fat down low, requires blipping the throttle to keep it clean. Runs good otherwise.

Both sleds are all stock with orginal plugs. Haven't had any issues with black streaks. Run 91 non ethanol & Polaris extreme. Only thing they do first start in morning with ES is stall once in 5 seconds then hit key second time which they run fine then. Hope they keep running fine.?
No one should be having issues with new sleds, that is the reason we have new ones. The window for riding is so small new sleds shouldn't be in shops sitting. I can't afford to buy anymore sleds for what the prices have become .

I noticed mine will leave alittle brown spot in snow if you grab throttle or have been sitting there with the engine running. I’ve put in 800 miles so far never has fouled or bogged. I think it runs crisp. I noticed it uses a bit more oil than my 800 did.

Brown streaks and dirty side panel every ride. Gets worse the deeper the snow.

I said this very thing when burrant posted some videos on facebook in 19 that this sled doesn't sound like a well tuned machine. Im getting the latest flash on the 19 this week so well see.

Hey Chris, still haven't installed the QD2 so I may have some before/after info when I do. I was actually going to post about my sled running fat, and saw your post here. After reading the comments I feel like my sled runs great lol! My motor feels strong and crisp bottom to top but I do notice that when idling downhill it burbles like mad. I've been just waiting to foul a plug but it hasn't happened yet. No discoloured snow at the exhaust at idle that I've noticed. Maybe it's a Polaris thing? It's just the sound, but I mean I keep feeling POSITIVE it's going to die/foul listening to it on downhills, but don't have any other evidence of running fat.

Thanks for the feedback. We are trying a few clutching changes to see if engine braking (increased rpm without throttle) actually pumps in more fuel and not just a factor of throttle positioning. It would be great if someone with knowledge of the mapping could chime in and save us some work??
