Silber has been testing a stainless can also, will weigh in the neighborhood of 8 lbs and just a bit louder than stock. Their exhaust on the 850 silber turbo kits is not crazy loud and is very durable. I think I'm going the Silber route. Last thing I want is to have my can crack and lose riding time.

While at the Jackson Hole Hill Climb, I saw Boondocker had a can for the boost. Not sure if there were in production or on sleds for show?

Battery relo with tunnel dump. Cool. Don’t understand why OEMs have avoided tunnel dumps.

Not a fan of the exhaust so close to the quick drive.
Yeah, saw it, too, flip side - likely avoids snow/ice buildup blowing up the bottom gear. Glass half full.

With the vibration and harmonics of a blower sitting atop a welded up can, can see how more cracked cans are possible. Won't know whose is tough and whose isn't until the hours pile up. All part of being a pioneer - you claim new territory, or end up face down in the mud with an arrow in the back.

Except that stainless steel is inherently tougher and resists cracking better than the mild steel used by SLP or the titanium……..

The Mig welds of Force are likely just as crack resistant as the Tig welds from Silber. (From my experience building stainless parts for 15 years)

I’ve seen 7 different welded stainless turbo exhausts from silber, some with 2000-2500 miles and zero cracking.

I’ve also seen 12 different SLP exhaust cans and pipes from 2008-2021 and ALL of them cracked within the first 1000 miles. While that doesn’t automatically mean their boost muffler will crack, it’s not a good indication of reliability.

Some of my stainless projects.

I’ve had 10 sleds with silber turbos and can honestly say that their stainless tig welding is second to none and I’ve never seen a silber stainless piece crack or fail even though they hold up the weight of the turbo. I’m definitely going to wait for Silber to start selling their can for my boost.

Why are they not replacing the heavy elbow at the expansion chamber?
Boondocker is the only one that looks like it replaced that piece.
I hope Silber does replace that piece!

Silber just released a nice option. Stainless and half the price of others!

Dang! I was going to hood out for SLP to release a competition can but at that price has me wondering. What’s the reputation on sled exhaust the last few years. Only thing I could find was on their side by sides and a few were not impressed with the fit. Which is pretty important on a boost. But also wondering about performance, hp increase etc Its baffled so shouldn’t be that loud but as what cost (restricted airflow maybe less Hp.)

Guess I’m going to find out. grabbed it while in stock. If SLP rolls one out in time for the season grab an slp and resell this one. Someone winds up with a deal and I don't loose out anything. But guaranteed a can for riding season. Have a feeling the SLP will go fast initially whenever they roll out. Bikeman runs $700, at $300 shipped for the silber…why not give it a shot.

Had 2 silber turbos and it's 50/50 for me. Actually it was 100% for me because i sold it to a buddy and he had to get it welded.

Same here,I pre-ordered a SLP a year ago and they never released it. I bet it will be $500+ when they finally do. I now have a Silber on the way!

IMO its a common misnomer that SS is tougher than milder steel. a lot of guys at work request SS because it’s “stronger” and we have these conversations often.

I want stainless for corrosion resistance. I once worked for Luverne Truck Equipment that made lots of stainless truck accessories. Learned a lot about stainless and grades of stainless and the transparent layer of oxidization that makes it such an awesome corrosion resistant metal and gets fish stank off your hands when you rub them on stainless etc and much more than I would ever want or need to know. I just wish more places would not back up the steel and weld it together so much vs seeing them use a mandrel bend and polish the stainless. Just looks so good vs seeing black powder latex pipes get covered with rust and holes develop at welded on attachment points or other welded areas. Trick is with stainless is not to let it come contact with other metals or it will corrode similar to steel wool left in a stainless sink. But a quick wipe with mild dawn dish soap and rinse will quickly restore the transparent protective layer. I think where guys are blowing out stainless cans is maybe more with improper materials used in welding it together or galvanic corrosion coming in contact with a different metal (steel instead of stainless springs, alum heat shield attached with steel screws, washers without insulation etc)
