Per request I am starting a new thread. This will be ongoing and I will add info as I go.

So far I used a 2009 530 ktm frame thinking it would fit tight. Not the case so I'm we have cut the bottom out to fit the engine properly. Eric82930 cut the side panels for me and mirrored the geometry of a machine he has been tinkering with for years. We shoved the skid as far under the engine as we could and modified the frame to receive. The only way this would happen is through the people I know. I would not have been able to pull this off... its a lot of modification (more than I was expecting).

The panthera engine transaction was easy and delivered on time. So far I have had to order separately the throttle and clutch assembly, along with the spark plug wire assembly.

I am putting an aluminum 7 gallon fuel tank on the back under the seat with a tunnel cooler from an artic cat. The skid started as a 120 aro that I got a good deal on then converted it to an aro 3 since the side panels were being recut.

I have attached the dyno for the engine before it left with the snowbike pipe. Thats for this specific engine.

So this is where we are at. No snow here so hard to get pumped building it. Exhaust is complete and cradle part of the frame we went with a bolting method because it is so big we wanted it easy to remove. The pipe for this bike is massive. I received an email that they recommend running a fuel pump to supply enough full wide open https://www.knfilters.com/81-0400-fuel-pump. This has been ordered.

Awesome build! Looking forward to following! Why panthera over BRC?
I used the Panthera because of the better power out of the box theoretically along with getting a completed whole engine. I believe the BRC is better suited for wheels and needs some work to pull the hp for the snow.

How would a guy go about getting one of those pipes?

Is it just a panthera specific pipe? (As in would fit a trx450r frame?)

3 or 4 seasons ago I would have been all over this build. My CR5 and I definitely had a love hate relationship. It pulled harder than any bike I've owned or even ridden for that matter, by far but it wasn't without its challenges. I do miss the power, not going to lie. A balance shaft would be a nice addition for a CR500, guess that's where the BRC might have a leg up. I couldn't keep lights or any kind of electronics alive for more than one or 2 rides. It destroyed my GPS in nothing flat. Regardless I'm sure it will rip hard when its done. Enjoy.

So this is counterbalanced and has a good amount of electrical power... that was my issue with the cr500. This engine is significantly bigger and has way more cooling. E start is nice also. This engine has crazy ports and flow I am excited...

Cool, Sounds like the ticket. Was the Panthera always counterbalanced I knew it had a decent stator and power? Its been a while since I looked at 500 stuff.

Cool project! Cast or forged piston?

Is that a old Doo vacuum style PV?

Yep its vacuum and adjustable. It is a billet piston. He said they could not keep any of the others in one piece they tried ..

Real interesting.

Keep an eye on the first ~12inches of that stainless pipe. I ended up running two of them. Maybe the counterbalancer will help.

Have you looked into a rage cage reed system ? Adds a little high pitch noise but I won't go back to stock .

What does that intake fit ? I would think they have to much invested to be a one off , TRX 450R , the dimensions and figures came from something .

They're running carbon fiber , best of the best , something to watch also as a maintenance procedure when time applies .

That thing is going to be an animal .

I have been told 50 hour top ends... which is what the yz250 is ringing in at all hopped up.
