Need input on a Trails West over axle trailer.

I've been looking at trailers for awhile and have pulled many different types.

However, I have never pulled the type where the entire box sits over the axles.

I would guess they will buck some wind and be a little tippy in a strong side wind.

I typically ride with only 1 or two guys and if we go with more, I'll let my buddies with the 30' gooseneck do the hauling.

I am guessing 3 mountain sleds will fit in this?

It is a 8.5' x 20'.
My tow rig is a 2011 2500 Silverado Crew Cab Short Box Duramax with airbags.

I have enjoyed mine. Tows good. I like the features. The front door doesn't completely seal on mine. I can get 3 163" sleds in. The humped floor makes for easy flat loading for other stuff besides sleds.

What is the problem with the door seal? Not the first complaint I have heard about that.

I have a Haulmark 20 plus the v deck over. Been a great trailer so far. If I load it from the front I can fit 4 of any length I want in it. Loading from the rear 144/162 is about it. Never had any issues pulling it anywhere and I've had it in some ugly weather at times while running around the country chasing snow. I pull it with a 2500hd crew/short box and other than it drinking gas I don't really know it's there most of the time.

I might be a little biased because I sell these trailers, but I have towed it to more than a few events/shows with my personal F150. I can honestly say I was very impressed with its tracking and towing in nasty weather. The box over the axles towed great even in heavy wind. Great trailer for the money, just my two cents anyways.

for pulling the TW does pretty good.


the front door in mine had large gaps; i could see daylight through it. snow, dust, etc made its way onto the floor. i sealed it up with a strip of 1/2' thick foam tape, but there were sections that wasnt enough to fully seal it.

if you haven't already check out the charmac trisport. pulls better, and the flat floor with small fender wells is much more user friendly.

I did not realize these were steel frame...I'm out. Steel trailers rot fast in Minnesalta.
