I bought a 2007 M1000 a couple months ago and have been cleaning it up and changing a few things. It seemed to run awesome when I got it. It started on first or second pull and would run good on a stand. I decided to put a Speedwerx y-pipe and pipe on it so I thought I would need a control box too. So I found a used boondocker and installed it all on Saturday. I got everything put on and went to fire it up and got nothing. So the first thing I did was unplug the Boondocker and put it back to stock just to see if it would fire that way and still nothing. I then pulled the plugs and put a brand new set in and checked spark it seemed good. So I have fuel and spark and it still doesn't even begin to fire. So I got on here and started reading I have since then changed all the gas out, checked fuel pump to make sure it's pumping, unplugged the handlebar controls, traced wires trying to find one broke and still nothing. I am going to check the stator tonight but the dash lights and tail light are lighting up when I pull it so I doubt it's that. I can't seem to find the ground that people are talking about up by the steering post can someone send me a pic of the engine grounds. I am new to the arctic cat world! I definetly could use any help if anyone has any advice. It has to be something simple!

The ground is at the Lower Steering A Frame support behind the tunnel bolt. Two bolt hold it to the chassis and if I remember correct its the upper bolt, their is a nut on the back side of it you will need to get a hold of as it will pull apart the harness if not held by a wrench (14 or 15mm wrench). I think.

The two times we had issues like you are describing with our M1000 were both bared wires. The first time that would kill everything was the wires going to the powervalve servo motor. They were bared on the edge of the bracket that actually holds the motor. Second time would intermittently drop one cylinder and it was an injector wire bared on the fuel rail. It was routed over top of the rail after installing a BD box. Taped it, wire loomed it, and then routed it under the rail. Even if that is not it, you may want to do the same to avoid that future problem.

Stuck injectors possibly. I have had this happen on a few M sleds now. It's pumping fuel and you have spark but won't fire. Pull the connectors off of each injector and take some leads from a 12v battery and touch the injector tabs real quick. You'll hear them click. The fuel these days tends to gum everything up.

Worth a try.

So since my last post I have checked the stator, ignition switch, all the coils and have went over most of the wiring and it all seems good. I also put jumper wires on the injectors to make sure they were opening and closing. So I changed the plugs again checked spark and it tried to fire so I put it back together and it fired right up. I let it run for probably ten minutes and it sounded good seemed to run like it had. I shut it off fired it up one more time let it run for another five minutes. I then put it up on my sled jack and pulled it over. It tried to fire the first pull and now is back to nothing. I still have spark and fuel. I did reach in to the air box and found that there was a little fuel puddled up in front of the throttle bodies. Could it be bad reeds? I am going to pull them off today and check them I guess. If not has anyone had the O2 Sensor cause it not to fire and maybe run rich and foul the plugs? It is flashing the O2 sensor code. I am also going to check the compression today.
