www.snowmobilehotspots.com is now up and running, i have compiled many web cams for SD (and many others) into one easy to look at page. This is a nonprofit site that i maintain with my spare time and spare money(that doesnt exist!) so excuse the fact it may be down from time to time.

Direct link to ND www.snowmobilehotspots.com/northdakota.html
Direct link to SD www.snowmobilehotspots.com/blackhills.html

I give credit where credit is due, please visit those sites as they make it possible for viewing of web cams.

I had been wondering what happened to the Hardy station cameras. Got an answer if anyone was wondering.

Subject: FW: South Dakota Safe Travel USA Comment

Dear Mr. Jorgensen:

Thank you for using SafeTravelUSA and for your question about the Hardy Station cameras. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this outage has caused you.

Communications to the Hardy Station has been disrupted since the middle of last week. We have established that power is still available at the site, and are working with the cell phone provider for the site to determine why cellular communication no longer works. We have another visit planned to the site and expect to restore service this week.

Please contact me anytime you have a question, suggestion, or comment regarding SafeTravelUSA or our phone-based 511 Traveler Information Service.

What is wrong with the Hardy Station cameras? They are very important to snowmobilers. We use them to determine current conditions for snow and general weather conditions in the area.

Seemed like the hills had halfway decent snow last year, it was just after any sort of snow it warmed up and never gave the chance for a good base to build. I hope this snow sticks, even though its not much it will help build a base.

At your home screen in the bottom left corner click START....right click on the Internet explorer icon...then click run as administrator...:then navigate to the website and if it doesn't pop up right away just wait a minute or two

That works if you have a newer laptop or computer

If its an older computer right click the little brown or grey bar that drops down on the page and click run add-ones and it'll have you download a newer version of java script

www.snowmobilehotspots.com will be down for an undetermined amount of time due to the owner moving to a site that may not have an internet connection or my not have a reliable internet connection.

Thanks, and sorry for the inconvenience.

Scheduled date of downtime is 2/29/12 - unknown , however it will more than likely be sooner. If further research shows it will be back up the owner will post ASAP.
