No it does not !!! on the early kits ( pros) yes it did. On the AXYS kits it does not, the oil dead heads to the center section like all the other turbo kits out there.

Thanks Chris! My mistake. Just got off the phone with Shawn, they switched to dead heading at the center section because they found some riding styles were causing the oil to pool in the intake and never make it back to motor, somewhat starving the motor of oil.

With as many high end features on this kit, Do you know why the WG control is handled by a simple spring rather than the actuator and a Gated Boost controller that can easily be adjusted from the cockpit?.... What are the benefits, besides simplicity, of the spring alone? (sincere question)

The best is an electronicly controlled watergate. Mtntk knows this. However, that requires an additional control box. Cost, complexity, and added failure points. Mtntks goal was as high performance yet super simple for reliability.

Then you have a traditional wastegate canister. Works well for set boost level but not altitude compensating which was a mandatory design aspect.

Spring only is altitude compensating and 100% reliable. There is a slower boost response associated with it. But the EFR turbo more than makes up for it. It builds boost exceptionally fast. At least as fast as a cheaper turbo with a traditional wastegate. So in the end, spring only works well, easily adjustable, keeps cost down, altitude compensating, and 100% reliable.

Hmm i really need to get my head around this. Ordered a mtntk kit and im only riding 1500-4500feet. Mostly 1500-2500 feet. So i really dont feel the need for a alltitude compensation. Especially if its holding back the response.
Because all i want is maxiumum response and power.
The days im up in the mountains i could just turn up the boost abit manually.

Is it possible to remove this spring or make alterations to it so it lets me have the maximum response?

Yes you could get the typical wastegate canister for the EFR. They offer 3 different versions: low medium and high boost. I honestly don't think you will need it though. They are wicked fast at building boost as is.
