Fellow MTN top riders, has anyone purchased and used the limiter strap lowering kit? Really appreciate feedback if anyone has lowered with that kit and what seat height you ended up with.

Also would appreciate knowing your seat heights on stock setup using recommended strut lengths.
I have 22 500 KTM and 25 MTN top, 3.25. With shorter than recommended strut rod, with 4' level across seat level bubble I am at 38''. I saw a video where Allen indicated that stock install seat height was 37.5. I am 39 with recommended strut lengths. Maybe 37.5 height is with 2.5 track because way off on my 25 3.25 kit. What say you. thanks

The whole Mt top kit is all about wheelies, it does that very well but that same trait makes the front end too lite and will wash out easilly. others have run a different ski that helps but it is simply lite on the front end,

The TS ski is still far less aggressive than Yeti or CMX ski , TS is better on ice but in powder the CMX is my favorite as its juan inch wider and juan ince longer so more float, They feel identicle except for the float.

This got derailed quickly!

It's been a while since I measured one, but they were all right at 37.5" seat height. Is your 500 a PDS bike? That might have something to do with it. I tried the lowering strap on my 300 setup but really didn't notice much of a difference and ended up just taking it off.

With regards to Mtn Top being all about wheelies - not sure where that is coming from. The guy who developed it definitely doesn't like to wheelie although a lot of the riders do! It's a different handling kit when compared to the traditional type kit with a lot of ski pressure (aro / yeti). The Mtn Top wants to be ridden differently, you lean and counter steer and drift the rear end around vs. turning the bars to steer, some adapt to this quickly others like to tighten the limiter strap to help it feel more like what they're used to.

byeatts, yeah I think I have the wheely thing under control. My biggest challenge now is getting a seat height I can ride. I suspect the 36 '' seat height is unattainable without having a tobagan with a ski. I would have to compress the suspension nearly 3" leaving maybe 3" of useable travel. I am curious if anyone has used the limiter strap shortening kit. Ski is ok. seat height is problem.

Thanks teal, yeah got derailed. Yes suspension on 500 is different that 450sx. Mine is not a linkage suspension (not sure what pds means) and may sit higher than 450's but I haven't noticed difference looking at bikes in showroom. Same bike I had 36" seat on my 22 yeti kit. My MT kit did not have recommended strut length in the set up info. I called, Rush advised we have never set up a 500 and had to get one in shop to check. Follow-up he advised 9 15/16 strut length. That gives me a 39'' seat (seat customs) height (with level). Stock seat gives 38.5. I struggle to get leg over 37.5. Sooo, curious about others attempts to lower. Thanks

Collin Hicken, Power Chicken Offroad, set up my '24 Mt Top with a lower than normal seat height (at my request), he can be reached at 435-315-5756, he's in Heber City, UT.

Thanks Lachoneus, Collin was helpful. He and I are on same page. He doesn't like the suspension changes with the limiter strap option so does combination of shorter strut and reduced spring tension.
