Missing coolant temp bars

Hi guys I have a 2011 GSX 1200 it always had a bar graph displaying the coolant temperature on the left of the gauge. on a ride today the gauge is blank when you turn the hand warmers on that side gauge works but then goes blank again no longer displaying the coolant temperature anybody seeing this issue before? Thanks
