MESC Triple Crown race series info

We have finalized the format for the new Midwest Extreme Snowmobile Challenge (MESC) Triple Crown series that will start at the conclusion of the 2016 cross country series.

The MESC Triple Crown series will be a 3 race spring series consisting of Terrain X, Hillclimb, & Hill X.

Terrain X- This will be a new format for snowmobile racing; it will be on a course designed much more like an old school motocross course but run entirely on a ski hill, about 2-3 miles in length, a two moto format with a combined finish for an overall winner, & moto’s will be time +2 laps.

This new discipline will be very similar to motocross; it will be timed qualifying in the morning for gate pick, a two moto format, overall will be decided by the combined finish of the two moto's. The Sport class races will be 10 minutes plus two laps, Semi Pro 15 minutes plus two laps, and Pro will be 20 minutes plus two laps. The race course will be a 1.5-2 mile natural terrain course, no man made jumps or features; track will have minimal grooming for safety but otherwise it will be like motocross and the second moto will be a lot rougher than the first.

Hillclimb- This discipline will be same as it always has been but we look at RMSHA for the example of how hillclimb racing should be; courses will have a great flow, obstacles to challenge the riders, & of course elevation changes to make it even more fun.

Hill X- This is a sport that was in decline but still had a huge following of racers here in the Midwest just looking for a place or series to offer some good hillcross racing. We will be taking some ideas used in the original hillcross series from years past but our Midwest Extreme twist into the course design. Riders will face a course with jumps, rhythm sections, turns, whoops, and possibly some downhill portions as well as uphill.

Working on class structure this week but we announced Monday that Snow Bikes will be added to the show for all 3 disciplines!!
