yep, this is the snow layer right now.

from top to bottom

over 2 feet of heavy powder

about 6 incher of hard stuff

2 feet of wet heavy snow

2 feet of light snow

the new snow should slide easy on top of the crust so be careful

I was talking to my wife and friends yesterday saying the same thing... It was so cold for a while and it pulled a lot of moisture out of the snow and it made for a very week layer... now with all this new snow and that is considerably heaver, we're going to see some pretty good slides. People are going to be tempted to ride some big hills. Make sure you check conditions and have your beacon on.:)
