M1000 Cylinder and Piston Tolerances

Does anyone have tolerance for 08 m1000 cylinder and piston? I purchased an OEM piston a recondition cylinder. Before I installed the cylinder, I put piston in to check clearance.

The piston was very tight at the bottom of the cylinder. Checked the cylinder size and it seemed ok except possibly on the bottom of the cylinder skits (hard to check cylinder skits).

Checked the piston and the skits measured 3.5553. The other areas on the piston measure below 3.5545 (above wrist pin, top of piston). Purchased second piston and it was about the same, skit was a larger diameter than other areas of the piston. Is this normal or is there a bad batch of pistons.

Below is a video of how tight the piston is with oil and new OEM piston.

Thanks

It is normal for the skirt to be the largest part of the piston, probably 3/8 of an inch up from the very bottom is where you measure to check your clearance. I don't know what the spec is for the 1000, but I would guess about .0049-.00625 is what the spec will be.
