Possibly one of the few out there that could be even less reliable lol. If it's a 1000 then HARD NO and often the 800 revs (although great sleds) have been ran into the dirt and back 3 times. Back to your sled you already have, Not everyone had their psi engines tuned to burn up every other ride. Pwd where ya located? I have a 97 as well as several older and newer chassis sleds all in that vintage. I have a spare freshly rebuilt and rtr 700 bb non ves with twin slp hillx pipes, tunnel dump, 220 jugs Ducati ignition (gen 2 polaris). Arctic cat secondary conversion WITH the correct clutching for that set up in a wedge or gen chassis 7000-9000ft
I'd trade ya my set up for that psi if ya get it. Also have quite a LOT of other vintage polaris parts and even more NEW parts. My angle is purely to recreate my uncles 97 ultra from back when I was a child. First anything I ever experienced that I could FEEL the sound of in my chest. He had every psi part in the SNOWEST mag. All the psi adds were like porn back then. Just glistening purple anodizing and $amounts that still are absurd even today lol Fond memories from my point of view atleast. LOL. I'm in sw mt and restoring a 96 xlt rmk as well as building a resto-mod 97 ultra for vintage hill climb racing. Pm me if you like, I do however concure with everyone else. NOT the engine you want for a work horse, although it COULD be set up to do so. You ideally want something with power valves.
@slash
The best way to make up for lack of torque is low gearing.
Sure whish I could easily gear my 15 600 rmk to 2.6 or so to 1 but NO everyone wants a belt drive ? lol
