i have a gennII, not a wedge...its a stock 600. im wanting to put like a 700ves motor into it and MABEY twin pipes....or just sell it completle and get something newer....any tips or ideas of putting a bigger motor into it?

thanks, jayson

G2 and Wedge are basically the same. Different belly pan and hood. Tough call on whether or not to upgrade the motor. You'll need the motor and electricals(harness, CDI), carbs, etc. To be honest it may be alot cheaper to get into one by selling yours and buying a used '03ish RMK. I've seen some really good deals out there. Something to think about anyway...

yeah, thats what im thinking...it probly would be cheaper or just worth the little extra cash to go with a newer sled....if i go with a used edge, i'll probly go with the 04. but if i can and i think i can come up with some more cash i'll go with a used 07 or newer...anyone ride a shift 600? if so...what do you think, power wise?
thanks, jayson

GHF... how do you like those filters on the carbs? Looks like it would be a whole lot easier tuning on the carbs with those than the stock air box.

has anyone ever dropped an 02-05 edge 700 motor into a genII chassis?

That's exactly what I did yep. Sled started out as a 2000 600 XCSP. Lost a connecting rod bearing, like all the 00-01 600 VES did. Took out everythign but the case, so I found a guy on HCS with a 01 pre production 700 VES. He had taken it out of a drag sled he was parting, so I bought it. Was 1000 miles with new rings. Put it in the led that summer, tried using a motor mount plate from a 02 700 SKS, but the motor mounts in the sled are different, as the XC came stock with a small block. So I ended up modifying the stock motor mount straps from the 600, got the mag side widened, the re drilled all the holes to the same CC as the stock 600. Was 14 at the time, so got some good experience with that project. Of course my dad helped me. Since then have done some more mods, running a 136 1.75 off an older RMK, 04 RMK seat, gripper skis, bar set up, took out the swaybar this past winter, over all it's been a really fun sled to learn and grow up on. It's been a project the whole way.

flying pig what gas tank and seat is on your gen II chassis. Your Gen II 1200 looks ausome I am building one my self with a 1200 wc

Thanks! Put a lot of time into 'er! Its a edge fuel tank, I also used a edge boss hightop flattop seat. The tunnel is 2" taller as well, feels just like sitting on my YZ 250!
