Our snow depth is about 18" to 24". Our season is official on Sunday but hunting season is still open till 1/2 hour after sunset on Sunday.
There is some extensive logging again this year only this year it affects the west side of the mountain.

We will open as many gates as we can Monday morning, these will all be to the west. Gates at lower elevations will have to wait for more snow so we can get to them. Jeff is scheduled out Monday night, his objective will be to smooth the pickup ruts and make the main roads as safe as possible. This will include Divide road, Upper Jefferson Spur Park and the Higgans area. Moose creek road is closed week days for logging and open on the weekends. It is currently plowed from the lower end of Moose Park to the bottom and out to highway 89.

Lets everyone have a safe season, we'll see you on the trails.

We went up yesterday and opened gates, there is a solid 2' most everywhere. It's a little thin in places with hidden obstacles so use caution. It looked like Sunday was rookie day, they rode everywhere. The dealers should love it.

Jeff went out with the groomer Monday evening and was going to try and level out the pickup ruts. The gates at the top of Higgans are still closed, as soon as Jeff goes through they will be open.

Use caution, there isn't that much snow.

FYI, Jeff went out to Spur Park and was going to go to Higgins when he blew a turbo hose so he came in. He did say that the tops of the ridges were very wind blown and nearly bare. The 2 gates at Higgins are still closed but he is headed that way as soon as we get the hose fixed. The road out to Williams Park is packed but he turned around at the intersection with Eagle Park.

Loggers are working at the lower end of Moose Park so the Moose Creek road is plowed down to highway 89.

Just in time for the weekend, Jeff groomed trail B through the black forest, Trail C over the burn and back to Divide road then on to the little h trail and back to the Moose Creek road. Moose Creek road is plowed about a mile below Island Park, Moose Creek intersection. Tonight he'll groom out to Higgins and beyond snow permitting. He should open the two gates at Higgins if he gets there. If you are in the Addams creek Allen gulch area the gates are most likely still closed due to lack of snow. Be advised the road is plowed to Moose Mtn and up the Black forest road about a mile. Plowed roads are closed week days and open on the weekends to snowmobiles.

Ride safe and watch out for the other guy....

Jeff has been over most all the trails that he can get to, once and he is starting his second trip. We got several inches of snow over the weekend but we still can't get to places down low. He was talking about going out towards Baldy, I haven't checked the spot to see if he did. If anybody has been up, post up what you found. Our snow is still in that 20"- 24" range with some base.

We were up Saturday and it was everything we expected and a bunch more. Were strictly on the east side up high we got great snow and it petered out down around Ant Park. There was a solid 18" in front of the groomer shed on the summit. Heard tails that snow was good out west also. Jeff will be back on his normal grooming schedule next week. Check the groomer spot for info.

Was out on a little joy ride Tuesday, The snow is tracked and wind blown. We did find a couple parks that were forgotten about and they made the day. Jeff Groomed down to the junction at Williams Park and back. He has to back track from there because of the road being plowed for logging. If he goes any further he wouldn't have enough fuel to get back in.

Last night he groomed over Higgans, down Lamb Creek to the highway and back up and then over 3 cabins across the hiway and back up the Black Forest road to the top of the mountain.

Our Beacon checker is out leaving the parking lot, be advised you need to come to a near stop and procead on the green circle.

You can check the groomer spot for groomer progress. https://share.findmespot.com/shared/faces/viewspots.jsp?glId=0AsKrDaxQg7imfrWTI4qA2LLuqE6OFmoc

Haven't been up for a couple weeks, I do know Jeff said there was several inches the other evening and it has been warm. Any body else know anything? I suppose everyone has heard about the avalanche at Seely Lake by now sounds like a couple fatality. Even in our area there can be slides so everyone watch what you are doing and keep the danger in your mind.

The Club has a chili feed this Saturday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the groomer shed anybody wanting a pretty good free lunch, stop by. Don't know where the groomer shed is? At the summit, go under the power lines and follow the groomed trail to the end. It's only about a quarter of a mile off the highway.

We had a little break down with the groomer, probably out of commission till early next week. There was about 5" of new snow in the trail to the shed. Wind was blowing HARD.

We were up yesterday working on the groomer. It was snowing hard as we were leaving. Jeff groomed most of the west side last night. We appear to have gotten about 6" over night with more on the way. Now if we can keep the temps above 0....

Be careful out there. Friend of mine was going up weatherwax last Saturday and it avalanched on him. He was ok but his brand new sled with about 40 or 50 miles on it is totaled.. snow broke almost at the top and was about 8 feet deep I am told. Broke all the way to the bottom. He said it was like jumping off your garage roof onto the driveway. Obviously weak layer is close to the bottom.

Poodragon is right, we were up yesterday and tried to get some pictures of it. It was snowing so hard that you could only see a little debree. There is probably a foot of fresh on the east side and the further east you went, the deeper it got.
Jeff is out grooming but he is having a hard time catching up. So if a trail isn't perfect, we'll get there.

Watch those hills out there, they are primed right now.

We were out Saturday and rode the west side. went early and hit some great areas. There wasn't nearly as much snow to the west as there was to the east earlier in the week. Most everywhere is tracked Saturday evening but it appears to have snowed all day Sunday. Jeff buffed up some trails Saturday night and he'll get back to work Monday night.

We had to be fast to get ahead of 800poodragon, he was kind enough to share some.......

What a difference a week can make, some estimates say we have had 30" in the past week. Our groomer reports over the tracks in most areas. Temps weren't too bad with -4 last night and trending warmer for the next couple days. With the new snow, watch the avalanches, Weatherwax has slid as well as Cabin ridge towards Baldy. Who knows what might go next. Ride safe out there.....

We were up Friday and Saturday, the snow was good but no base in most areas and most areas were DEEP. We were on the west side only and in the Eagle park area. Below Williams park towards Eagle the snow petered out rapidly with the grass showing in Eagle.

Snowed most of the day Friday and pretty chilly Saturday.

Word of caution, It seems some dog sledders have claimed ownership of the whole area spreading straw over the entire trail and leaving bails at will in the trail. They seem to want to ride into oncoming traffic, we nearly wiped out an entire team. The musher looked straight on and didn't acknowledge us in any way. Kind of got the dander up if you know what I mean.....

Haven't been up since last weekend so I don't have much to offer. I do know most of the trails have been groomed this week and I am guessing everything is holding up pretty well. Last night's temp was in the lower 20's. Jeff did say that he was getting a Little snow most every night. Little being an inch or so.
We do know that logging in Moose Park is winding down and the road is only plowed to a little above Bottle Creek ( George Noble ) Jeff has groomed over George Noble and down to where the logging starts again at the intersection with B trail, B trail is only plowed for about 1/2 mile. He has groomed T trail, Lamb creek and 3 cabins as well as little d to Deadman's.

If you should encounter anything unusual, post it here and we can take care of it. Safe travvels out there.....
