I’ve got a question tho, there’s been several posts of guys bragging up the elevated 165s.. Is it really needed to make the 165 nimble or is stock okay on the 165? I’m asking because I really want to order a 21 hardcore but I cannot make my mind up on the track length.. 154 2.6 or 3 or 165 3
Initially I was intrigued by the 2.6 but I don’t wanna be the guinea pig and have it trench like my 2016 2.6 powerclaw(I recently saw pictures of the 21 and it’s got the outside small fingers unlike the 3”)
I totally agree with the above that you’re generally looking for more and since I’m not real advanced maybe the 165 is the way to go but I don’t wanna be forced to purchase an elevate either. Is the 154 3” a happy medium or does that require a better rider? Thanks in advance..
You don't need the elevate kit at all, it's all personal preference and if you have that kind of money to just throw around people are doing it, they do it to their 155 and 165, it is absolutely not needed. from what I gather is it an improvement? Yes, but $$$, like any aftermarket mods/upgrades for sleds, many do it, and others keep them stock.
I love my alpha the way it is, it was a huge upgrade over my pro rmk, so much more traction, so easy to lay over, it's so playful. way less effort. There was a post about people finding it too squirley when trying it out, for many and my self I had to ride it a few days to get used to how much less input to the sled I needed, basically fine tuning your self to the sled, now at the end of the day of hard riding I'm actually not worn out.
Get the 165 and you'll be amazed how fast that thing will turn under you, it threw me off many times how tight it'll turn if you want it to, most of those turns I did were mistakes when I was getting used to it and leaning too much haha
