All,
curious if anyone has installed the larger 9" rear idlers and offset shaft from TKI. In theory - it definitely sounds like it would free up rolling resistant. Anyone do this and have any noticeable impact on performance. Just wondering before I order them.

I have them on my 19. It is a 174. I did it for a couple of reasons. Firstly on my 2016 AXYS with the 2.6 track the wheels actually started breaking through the belt on the track as it was cracking at the wheels. With the larger wheels it spreads the forces more and although my 19 sled is a 3" track I did not want that to happen again,

Secondly was I felt the Doo's were backing up better than my Polaris so I wanted it equal or better, I feel it is better with the big wheels.

Thirdly was for less rolling resistance but this one is hard to quantify,

Finally reason was to shorten the sled by a inch or so so if anything it would be slightly more playful.

No regrets and I likely will do it to the 165 Khaos coming this Fall.

I put 10” on my sleds. It helps a lot for less rolling resistance.

I’ve been using 9” wheels on 163 Polaris 800’s since 2012. I can attest to less rolling resistance, a consistent gain of a 1 - 200 max rpm, depending on the particular sled, longer track life my 16 had 3800 miles on the original track. Only drawback I’ve experienced is the rigid aluminum wheels need a hub between them. Tends to knock the bearings out of the bigger rear wheels.

Was it a nightmare to install? I'm attempting to put mine on and it's been a bear. Did you roll the sled on it's side?

I put alpha 10” wheels with the tki offset on my Khaos. I really doubt there’s any performance gain. I did it for cool factor and it backs up way better in the powder

The axle is solid as in good , use blue loctite to keep the bolts from backing out even with the lock washers they started loosening . I would think that they would be more prone to loosening with aluminum wheels , didn't go that route for fear of bending or breaking them .
Bigger rear wheels might help with scooping besides rolling resistance but I don't think it's been noticeable . Every little bit helps sometimes .

I finally got them in . Not a lot of slack in the track - especially since there is only 115 miles on the sled. For all that effort - I hope they make some sort of difference there then looking cool.

Tensioner is full loose and may stay at that position - hopefully it's not too tight in the position. I finished late last night so will take a look at tension and alignment probably later today
