Check out this new trailer from the Utah Avalanche Center.

Sign up is now open for UAC motorized avalanche and riding skills workshops. Note that the Companion Rescue classes are open to anyone regardless of how you recreate. They are held at Brighton in the evening after work - we work on foot, no skis or sled needed, and these are for anyone who wants to improve their rescue skills.

When is the last time you practiced with your beacon, probe, and shovel? How about your partners?

This class is for anyone, no BC 101 or Level 1 required. It is set up to be both a good introduction to rescue and a good way to refresh skills.

If you want to see why learning rescue skills is important, check out this new video reenacting a local rescue. This is as close as you can get to actually being in a rescue without actually being there. It involves a party of skiers, but once your buddy is buried, we are all in the same mess regardless of how we got there. Share with your partners.
