The market for mountain sleds in Michigan has grown so much since my first mountain sled in 2009.

Post up where you're from, your first Mountain Sled and what you're riding now.

I'm from Traverse City, MI

First true Mountain Sled was an 2009, Polaris Shift RMK 800 144 x 2

RMK 99% Done (4a).jpg

Current sled: Not in yet but 2020 Polaris Khao 155 850

I'm 10 miles over the Ohio line, does that count?

First actual mountain sled was my '02 Summit 8 151 (longest at the time) Snow-checked in Ontario.
Added a 16 x 2.25 x 162 to it a few years later. (still under it yet)

Now have an '18 Summit 850 165 x 3

Ride Algoma and Colorado.
Not rode Mich hardly at all since '96.

Nice, we ride that area a lot as my buddy has a place north of Curtis. Those kind of miles you must live up there?

I live in the center of the UP in Gwinn. 1st mountain sleds for me were home built long track mod sleds in the early 90's with drop and rolls and bolt on paddles before the OEM's came out with "mountain sleds". Admittedly they are pretty crude compared to a basic stock mountain sled now lol. Since the OEM's came out with them Ive owned each new model Polaris RMK from the 1996 with a wopping 133" x1.5" track to the 2020 850 Khaos. Thanks a lot, this post just made me realize I have a problem...and I'm old lol. I love riding the UP, MT, CO, ID, WY, and Alaska

I'm in Houghton. I ride off trail on a RMK 155. I am always checking the snow conditions in the woods as well as the trails. Hit me up if you would like current conditions, places to ride, places to stay and places to eat.
