How do you align skis

They're not supposed to be alighned, they should be toed out 1/4"! Run a straight board or channel iron along side the track and past the skis. Set you bars straight and measure from 10" ahead and behind the spindle. Measure from the wear rod or a straight mold line and adjust.

If i may!
I have to set my sled up too and i am new to this, are you saying 1/4 out for each ski from you straight edge witch would work out to 1/2 all together or are you saying 1/8 per ski 1/4 all together. But like i said i am new to this.
Thanks

Should be 1/8 to a 1/4 toe out all together!:bump2:

Also you should have the sled sitting on a smooth flat level surface like your garage floor. If it isn't smooth then the ski can catch on something when you are adjusting the tie rod end and give a false reading. I always pull the ski tips together lightly and then let go before measuring just to take up any slack.

I would start by checking that there is no binding in any of the tie rod assemblies. Then find steering center for the handlebars. Use some tie down straps from each end of the bars back to the bumper to keep them centered. Now slide a 2x4 or something similar along the track so that you can measure the side of the ski to the 2x4 to make sure the ski is tracking in the same line as the track. Once you have the handle bars centered, the ski aligned to the track then start to adjust for your 1/8" to 1/4" toe out between the two skis. Once you have that done and all jam nuts tight, jack up the front and turn the steering by hand feeling and watching for anything that might hang up. The skis should turn the same amount in both directions. If you don't get the handlebars centered before you start, you will continue to fight it and it will feel real funny if you are blasting down the trail with one arm farther forward than the other and the steering will not be the same in both directions.

Pretty straightforward, but take your time and double check things if you need.

And before you do any of that good stuff, make sure your ski runners are straight. Deformed ski runners will not enhance your alignment efforts. And then there is ski to spindle slop....
Cheers.
