Hooper 1100 twin

1150cc twin? I think it was either a 1000 or a 1150 he offered.
I have a 1000. Dale himself says the 1000 is a more efficient engine. Not that it beats the 1150, at least I haven’t been able to when I come across a good running one.

Listed on his site is a 1100 bolt on. Also is a 1100 ho that uses a stroked crank. I’m just trying to find out what people think of them in a mountain sled. And anything in general before I jump into one.

I think reeb has John Hooper confused with Dale Cutler of CPC racing in Utah. I see Hooper has 975, 1100 and a stroker 1200 for the 900 Cat twin. You may want to try and pm Idcatman1 or Idcatman3 on this site. They have all kinds of experience with big bore motors for the 900 Cat. Good luck!

You’re totally right. I was on a path with Cutler on my mind. Sorry bout that. I’m trying to find some hooper cylinders to build a 1404 if anyone has a line on them. Don’t really wanna go 1515 with D&D.

The 1300 is plenty...

No no no if we are gonna do it we might as well make it happen! I just need some 1080 pistons to fall into my lap and the poor sled will be a 1620 before I know it!

Really though, my reasoning for the 1300 over any of the others is just parts availability.

You'll be able to get 900 cylinders and 1000 pistons forever, pretty easily.

1300 is stock bore 900 tho. 1460+ sounds mucho much better. And prolly the route I’m gonna go. Already got the rev with the 975.

I've been typing 1300 every time that I meant 1500...

I think I'm going crazy from the isolation.
