i bought a o6 polaris 700 151" with a holtz racing suspension. it has fox air shocks on all four. I am trying to get some ski lift. i loosened the limiter all the way out, and tried variuos different pressures on the shocks. does anyone have experience with these suspensions and how to gain more ski lft? now i get about 1-2" ski lift max and would like to get closer to 6".

I would email Holz and ask them to email you the documentation for that skid.

Up until very recently they still had that skid listed for sale on their website and you could download the instructions for it still.

I wouldn't mind having the electronic version of the docs either I guess I should have saved them to my hard drive.

More power!! ;) I'm pretty sure there is alot of time put into that susp. to try to keep the skis down, not up. Talk with Mark, he is very helpful and knows it better than anyone.

It's is designed to keep the front end down bro. So basically put more than......I don't know, say 185-200HP and you will get some lift then.

i have already let out the front limiter all the way and it does not change anything. i have added pressure to the center shoch to the point of bucking me off the sled and no help. i noticed there is onother bolting option for the center shock and a cam with bolting options, may be the answer? i did download the set up and adjusting manual for this skid, and it had no info for what i am looking for. igot on the holtz web site and could not find a way to contact them. i will try mark. thanks for the help.

You can call Holz directly at (360) 398-7006

That suspension is designed to give ski lift in the range you are experiencing now. To get the skis to lift dramatically will probably require re-mounting the skid. However, and I am sure everyone is asking themseves this question, why do you want excessive ski lift? It makes no sense to me at all.

Ok, first off, you are on a pig heavy nosed '06 so you are fighting an uphill battle.

That said, make sure the front skid shock is in the upright mounting position (top mount is above the cross shaft).

If that is already there, then you can drop the front mounting location in the tunnel down 1 hole. It isn't drilled in the tunnel, but if you look underneith you will see the tunnel plates have addtional holes in them that can be drilled out. Each hole is 5/8" different, drop it down 1 hole.

Does your skid have the optional shock behind the rear scissor? If so, you can remove that and you'll get ski lift too.

why do you want the skis higher off the snow????

Is it going too good in the snow, and afraid to embarrass your buddies????

Another option is to move the bottom rear scissor mount forward on the rails approximately a 1/2 in. Or if there is a scissor stop remove it, the down-side would be ride quality but the skis will lift. Try jacking the front of your sled up say a foot, then take a look at the rear suspension, compress it with your body weight and see how its reacting, I'm sure you can figure it out! Peace.

Try rattling some bolts out of the skid, so that the whole thing collapses and leaves you stranded on the trail. Or...... You could just ask StoneHands how that worked out for him.:p

Does anyone have the electronic copy of the instructions for this skid?

I never saved them to my hard drive and would like to have them.
