Help. Really bad detonation on sidekick axys

I’ve got a 2017 Axys 800 155 with a Boondocker sidekick turbo with an intercooler.

If I hold the sled wide open for more then a couple seconds it will detonate. “Det” flashes on my dash and I shut the sled off and then it goes away.

It will also detonate on the trail after 6,800 rpm. Sometimes backfires around 6,800 and when you’re feathering the throttle around 3/4 throttle.

This thing is seriously detonating every 2 minutes if I ride it the way I want to.

I am hitting 8,250 rpm WOT so it’s not over revving.

Brand new Indy Dan motor with 50 miles on it. 600 total miles on the sled.

i did blow a coolant line at the bottom front of the motor this weekend too.

riding the sled in the snowy range in Wyoming around 10,000-11,000 ft

I put 3 gallons of race gas in the sled and the rest pump 91 non ethanol. And I am running the sled in ethanol mode as well.

I really need to get this sled figured out this week. Any help is greatly appreciated

Could be. I'm not sure.
I know the 850 is different though.

Make sure and double check the position of your knock sensor. It has to be with in that +/- 10 Degrees of the correct position. I can only assume it’s the same on the 800 as the 850?

Check your fuel injector harness wires at the connectors.(Boondocker end) Give a little tug on each wire. Had one that wasn’t crimped, it had intermittent contact loss..

Also it really takes a lot to get the sled to move from idle. Like its way more boggy than a stock sled and sometimes I have to pin it in order to get it to move.

Then after I get it moving it will run awesome up until it dets at either 7,000 rpm or wide open at 8,200

I did a full tank of straight 100 LL AV gas and it only detonated once all day. I must have the next step up from the sidekick because I have an intercooler on my sled.

If you have an intercooler, you're more than likely to be running a higher boost (race gas) system.

Can you post some pics of your set up. Then might need you to dig into your controller. If it’s adjustable.

Where in IA are you located.
