Help on how to check Alignment

I have a 98 Vmax 600 that went through 2 belts in a night. I want to make sure that the alignment isn't messed up. (we replaced the primary will a used clutch that looked in good condition). I tried looking up how to check the alignment, but I am having a hard time grasping how to do so. Can anyone please give me a step by step run down on how to check it? Thank you!

Are you sure the clutches aren’t worn out and need over hauling?

On an older sled I'd definitely check and make sure that your clutches aren't worn out (pull them and take them apart), Check and see if the jackshaft and crank are both true, and that the motormounts aren't loose or broken. Both clutches should be parallel to each other, you can get that reasonably close with a straight edge, or you might be able to find an clutch alignment tool.
