Help! Axys sidekick Detonating really bad

I’ve got a 2017 Axys 800 155 with a Boondocker sidekick turbo with an intercooler.

If I hold the sled wide open for more then a couple seconds it will detonate. “Det” flashes on my dash and I shut the sled off and then it goes away.

It will also detonate on the trail after 6,800 rpm. Sometimes backfires around 6,800 and when you’re feathering the throttle around 3/4 throttle.

This thing is seriously detonating every 2 minutes if I ride it the way I want to.

I am hitting 8,250 rpm WOT so it’s not over revving.

Brand new Indy Dan motor with 50 miles on it. 600 total miles on the sled.

i did blow a coolant line at the bottom front of the motor this weekend too.

riding the sled in the snowy range in Wyoming around 10,000-11,000 ft

I put 3 gallons of race gas in the sled and the rest pump 91 non ethanol. And I am running the sled in ethanol mode as well.

I really need to get this sled figured out this week. Any help is greatly appreciated

Also it really takes a lot to get the sled to move from idle. Like its way more boggy than a stock sled and sometimes I have to pin it in order to get it to move.

Then after I get it moving it will run awesome up until it dets at either 7,000 rpm or wide open at 8,200

I did a full tank of straight 100 LL AV gas and it only detonated once all day. I must have the next step up from the sidekick because I have an intercooler on my sled.

How much boost are you running? Sounds like you might have the boondocker st race kit and you might need to run more octane or turn the boost down if you don’t want to run that much race fuel

What boost level are you running ? Are you sure you have the right waste gate spring and not over boosting ?
8250 in the trail tells you nothing track needs to be loaded should be 8450-8550 with track loaded.

what do plugs look like ? Don’t just post a picture of a only plug after 20 minutes of trail riding that’s useless new plug do a couple pills and cut it open and look at the fire ring.
-Check fuel pressure the tank pick fails especially with AV gas.
-loose exhaust heat shield or anything rattling will give det codes
-make sure knock sensor is torqued (must break it free and retorque it to spec just checking if it’s tight tells you nothing)
-broken bumper tabs can effect the grounds and do lots of funny things
-look at the tops of the pistons if damage is done it will continue to det easier
-is the sled in ethanol or non ethanol mode ?
