What head are you guys running with boost, or you recutting the dome I got 153 psi cold wide open both sides. Dont think thats gonna work with boost. And how bout pistons I like Wiseco because the skirts are reinforced on the inside but lots of boys are saying MCB are the way to go. And are you all getting your cranks welded up for the boost or hasnt that been a problem. Im running a 07 800 HO power tec thanks for looking.

stock head, but only pulling 140psi at 2,800' with new spi pistons. I do not like wiseco's in sleds.
I have not had the crank out yet, but plan on pulling it and having it checked/rebuilt for next year and new pistons again.

I'm running a stock motor (800HO (150) PSI. 9 lbs boost with 117 octane C16 race fuel. $160 CDN per 11 gallon tank. Makes 40 miles. Runs awesome. But I'm going to take .125" out of the domes so I can afford to ride.

um..... what the heck for?
****. you could run 20psi on c16 with stock timing and compresion. What elevation are you at?
I run pump 91 non ethanol fuel 7psi at 6000' and up. You could run 10psi or a little more on 105 motor octane fuel no problem. Should be plenty safe 50/50 mix with 105 and pump 91. I am just starting to turn mine up. Accidently ran 20psi on pump gas for a few pulls. I gues I shouldn't really say a few pulls. As soon as i gave it the gas it just bounced off the rev limiter. Looked down and saw it heading past 20psi. :face-icon-small-sho Installed a mbc and it did not work the way it was supposed to. was supposed to be still at 7psi gate presure and it was fully open instead of fully closed.
dumped my 2.5 gal can of 105 motor octane fuel in and turned it down to 9psi, but it was leaking antifreeze. Still rode it the rest of the day and stoped a few times at creeks to top it off and grab some extra. Either took out a head gasket, base gasket, or both. got to pull it apart and check it out.

if you are riding 10,000' and up you should be ok on premium pump and 9psi. Just to play it extra safe and protect from the ocasional bad gas you could put 3 gallons of 105-110 motor octane fuel in with every fill up.
shouldn't have to touch the head to run this either.

Turbo

I ride at alttitudes from 3500-5500ft. I'll never ride anything without a turbo again. Sure there are teething pains, but when they are working good, WOW! Mine dynoe'd 208 hp. aero 53 w/ inter-cooler.

I'm running stock head, Aero 66 at 10 lbs on 114 race, 6000 to 7200ft. No problems. My opinion is you are able to keep some of the stockish bottom end by keeping the compression in the motor.

I'm no engine expert, and I have a question...

Wouldn't a sled with a stock head, say 10 lbs be the same as a sled with a cut head, and say 11 to 12lbs? Not sure, anyone know?

Bryce recommended taking some compression out, but I wanted to ride and never got around to it. It is still holding together ....
