Last season I noticed that both my high and low beam lights were out. I figured it was just from usage and rough riding conditions. I switched from halogens to LEDs. All was fine, until I was checking out the drive system. The high beams had went out. At an idle the low beams were functioning fine. I ran the RPM’s up again and the low beams went out. Any suggestions? I’m afraid it’s the voltage regulator. Is there an easy way to check it out?

Volt Ohm meter will tell the story! BTW halogen bulbs will work on AC or DC.
LED will switch off at lower voltage (possibly fail), however will handle high voltage up to about 30V DC only. LED will not run on AC.

Thanks for the information. After running the engine up to the higher rpm’s, that’s when the lights went out. I’d went to the LED’s because I thought they’d handle rougher conditions better.
