hcr vs. rtr?

Not sure what RTR you're referring to. Boondocker built a few sleds based on an M8, with turbo, suspension mods, vents and custom wrap. They call it the RTR for Ready To Ride.

The HCR is a factory Arctic Cat version of the M8 with wider front end, coil-over Fox Zero Pro front shocks (instead of Floats) and a 90-durometer Power Claw track (instead of the 80 duro track on the M8).
 
no hcr turbo?

So the hcr doesn't include a turbo. Its just set up a little better forms mountain riding? And i didn't know there were different styles of the rtr. I just knew of the model that chris burandt ran for his backcountry adventure deal. I think i lost a quart of drool when i watched that movie. Any info is appreciated

Yeah, Burandt worked with Boondocker on the RTR concept. They wanted to sell them as turn-key sleds with turbos and a bunch of aftermarket, basically what Burandt rode when he was on Cat. But it doesn't come from the factory like that, Boondocker just bought stock M8s and put the stuff on.

The HCR is an Arctic Cat production model, and is what Arctic Cat's supported pro hillclimbers use. No turbo. The suspension is better for big bumps, track is better suited for firm snow conditions. The M8 Sno Pro is probably the better mountain sled for dry powder snow.
 
Now that you've explained it, i bet hcr doesn't stand for hill climb ready. I bet its hill cross ready. Thanks for clearing that up for me. Membership just paid for itself
