the snotel quit working on the 16th but water content went from 13.6 to over 15 and its 19 degs, so we must figure that its pretty good if you can make it past the avys at dead horse drop!!!! any one been lately...
Is dead horse drop on the main trail? Before you get up too high? I think I was there with my wife and had to turn around. It was an inside corner (headed up the trail) and it was just filled in and lots of big rocks on the road as well. It was a loooong steeeep chute to the bottom. Is that Dead horse drop or is it somewhere else? Seems like it was only about 15 minutes or so from the snopark.(yellowjacket?) Just wondering in case I make it there again sometime. . I know they heli-ski that area so it should be good to ride.
We call it dead horse point. there are usually about 5 slides to cross and they have to be dug out after each snow. It sounds like thats where you turned around.
