GPS map of Snowy Range

Since I could not find a decent GPS map of the snowies I bought the software and created one off of someone eles's georeferenced tracks.

I now have a routeable map of the snowy range you can drop on your Garmin. It is not tested on the trails but appears to pass the routing test on my unit, if someone wants to load it up on their Garmin right now and let me know how it works that would be great. If I missed a route point or something let me know and I'll fix it ASAP since I'll be there next week to test it myself.

Be sure lock on road is selected in your device, the trails may not be lined up 100% perfect but that's what lock on road is for.

The link is to a 55.0 kb .img file. When I try to open the file it says the disc image is corrupt. I'm using Windows 10.

It's a Garmin map file, you have to put it on your gps to view it. Windows will not open it without map editing software installed.

I got the wyoming 24k card and it always seems to show every trail fairly accurately, along with all other little service trails...

I use that along with birdseye and its been awesome!

The 24k topo card is nice but I have not pulled the trigger to purchase it yet.

I used it and it worked fine, I also added two waypoints on the west side of the range where you can get fuel on the trail.

I also added the roller coasters leading to the Widowmaker base, those are not on the printed map.

We are headed there next week for the first time. Would you mind sharing the location of your additions for fuel and landmarks as I have the same 24k gps card?

Rendezvous lodge has fuel, located at Ryan park.

Ten Mile Inn should have fuel soon if not already. DNR was visiting the site last week for approval.

so is there a way i can download those google maps images so i can see them with not interent connection? but it will locate me via GPS?

Hello, I haven't been able to upload your file to my gps using Garmin BaseCamp, it's not the right file for it. I was hoping you could send me the coordinates for the good places to ride in the snowies, I'm new to riding that area and would love to upload all the waypoints onto my gps.

You ever try Avenza maps. Works on most smart phones with GPS capabilities. Wyoming has a free trails map for it as well. Requires cell signal or Wi-Fi to download map but once downloaded only requires GPS on phone.

Avenza Maps, works without cell service. I tried to post trail maps for Snowies, Tog, and Sierras but I guess I cant get the attachments to load...ugg

Yes! Avenza maps has a free Snowy Range trail map for smart phones
Get the app set up on your phone,
Then google Avenza snowy range trail map then download the free map to your app from the browser

I downloaded Avenva like last year but haven't used it. I also had downloaded the Snowies GeoPDF2017 map.

I just looked at it on my phone and started poking around and WOW, I think this is really cool. Can't wait to try it on the mtn.

Havent used mine much so cant comment but I will add I have polaris ride command and until I use avenza more, I can say the polaris app is very simple and fast but mainly just shows you where you are relative to a trail.

Also interested if there are better apps out there now...
