gopro default setting

I just received the gopro 2 for Christmas and am loving the footage l took a couple days later when my buddy took me out snowbiking ( I'll post how much l enjoyed that in that section).my question is my camera won't stay defaulted in video mode l set it and it will show video when l turn it on but then goes to photo, has anyone experienced this? I have not done the firmware update maybe this will solve it?

I found that if you hold the power up button to long when you turn on the camera, it switch to next mode in the menu, which is the picture mode.
When powering up, hold only for 2 second and you should be good.

that works

First try l held it til it beeped & it switched again, second try l let off the button before it beeped & it held video mode, l may try one button mode & see if that works better. Now l just need to learn how to edit & post video, thanks for the help.
