Fuel transfer tank

I bought a 900 boost this year and requires av gas or race gas. where i live closest station for race gas is an hour and choosing to go with avgas as its cheaper and easier to get most anywhere vs race gas being limited to certain fuel stations. our small local airport is 25 minutes away (toward riding zones) and i have called and is easy to go get fuel. thinking of best way to purchase a week or 2 worth at a time. ride 4-6 days a week and averaged 8 gallons a ride last year on a stock 800 so anywhere from 30-50 gallons a week

option 1: yes its rated for diesel but why wouldn't it work for gas? i have a tractor so i can load it onto truck bed and drive to airport fill it and bring it home to unload it.

option 2 would be 55 gallon drums. then buy an electric fuel transfer pump to fill sled, or keep barrels slightly elevated and use a siphon hose.

any other options of thoughts are greatly appreciated.

have a 2500 silverado with the decked drawer system and a sled deck. so bed mounted options wouldn't be ideal but could make work for right setup if someone has an idea.

thanks ahead of time for reading and inputs

Those types of units are nice, but don't buy Vevor. It's a horrible chineese company that copies the real stuff. DON"T SUPPORT THOSE BASTAGES!!!!

I used a couple 30 gallon plastic drums when i was buying AV gas for my silber turbo axys.

Worked well, fit under a sled deck.

Man sized even full.

Siphon hose and a 3d printed drum bung wrench.

I wouldn't put AV gas or race fuel in a container meant for diesel only. I've had some race fuels that turn even fuel rated hose and o-rings hard and brittle. That Vevor tank says it's made from polyethylene, but it doesn't say what kind. If it's not HDPE gas can permeate it.

Also, if it has a filter meant for diesel the filtration size might be larger to allow the paraffins of the diesel to pass easier. Whereas if it was meant for gasoline it might be a smaller micron rating. This is more of an issue if you were using it the other way trying to run diesel through a gas filter.

thanks for the different inputs. after all the comments i've decided to stick with a steel/aluminum tank. might have to remove my decked drawer system so i can get an L shaped fuel tank/cell to fit in the truck bed under the sled deck. doing that ill always have the tank with me and ill be able to mount it in the bed and make it stable while also being able to ground it properly to the chassis. or another option i've considered it having my welder make a custom fuel cell that fits on top of decked drawer system and under the sled deck and just use gravity to fill the sled with an inline filter. would be able to make it approx 60" wide by 76" long and 6" deep making it a max capacity of 116gallons.

again thanks for the input and if anyone has any other ideas outside mentioned above by others im all ears still

came here to say this. We mix e85 for race cars and messed with 55 gallon steel drums. The 30’s are so much nicer to handle.

To OP - I’m jealous of your riding time - if I get out once a week I feel lucky!

Good to know. That’s a few people who have mentioned to do the 30 vs 55 for the same reason. If I don’t get a tank built for the truck bed that’s my plan. Airport isn’t a huge detour in between the house and riding zones so getting a couple 30’s at a time wouldn’t be end of the world.

Ya I’m very fortunate to have a seasonal business we run off our property (boat repair) that alows heavy riding in the winter. Granted I usually work 6 days a week 10-12 hour days Memorial Day until November 1st.
