What material does cat use to build their front spindle? It’s tall, looks like it would be weak being so small...but failures aren’t super common? Is it a 70 series machines aluminum or what?

Failure is pretty common for the OEM units. Not complete breakage, but bending the ski in, twisting it right above the lower ball joint mount.

This is one reason it took us so long to dial in our elevates, lots of engineering to ensure we had a large increase in strength without suffering big weight issues.

What material do you guys machine yours out of? They sure are small and light looking too

6061 T6 - These particular spindles are .5# heavier then OEM cat units but given the increased height of 2" and strength across the board, we we're very pleased with the results. We spend a LOT of time doing the engineering ahead of time and then in the field validation to ensure the design is rock solid not only in design (Modeling / FEA) but any weird hiccups that might arise in actual usage as well.
