What is everybody using? I used blue tint this weekend and well, the sucked... bad. I ended up borrowing a set of yellow tinted goggles and they were better. I have heard that a red tint or rose tint is supposed to be even better.

I know what to use for night riding, I know what to use for when it is really bright out, but what are you guys using for flat conditions? Have you compared what you are using to anything else? I was blown away when I looked through another guys goggles, they were much better then the yellow tint, but I am not sure as to the exact color, maybe rose?

Should throw polarized on your list, I'd be curious to see what people think of them in such conditions.

I don't know how... :o Though polarized mostly helps with glare. I know my sunglasses rock with polarized lenses. I don't know though.

All I know is I HATE my light blue lenses in flat light or overcast days. Those days I really like my orange lenses. Those 2 are all I have ever tried.
Is there a single color that works well in all light conditions? I've been real happy with the light blue color I use most of the time now but they are horrible in overcast/flat light conditions.

Flat light sucks regardless.

I have a pair of rose lenses that I have started wearing for just about everything. They are as good or better than anything else I've tried in flat light.

The orange/perrisimon seems to be the best for me. It seems to work well in all the light conditions.

Habervision has three colors of lenses available. Clear, optical orange and vermillion.

Reds and vermillions tend to provide the best contrast in low light conditions. It also preserves your night vision by preventing the bleaching of “rhodopsin” a pigment located amongst the rods and cones on your retina.

Another broad spectrum color is the optic orange, this color balances a need for low light perception and bright light glare blocking. Haber mates a high contrast orange color with Tri-Oxide™ rainbow blue flash coatings and polarization to produce a lens with a broad performance spectrum. Optic Orange™ delivers unbelievable performance in flat light or bright light.

We were just out riding this weekend in blizzard like conditions tons of snow and very windy both my hubby and I were wearing a polarized optical orange lens. They rocked we had tons of definition the problem was all the blowing snow made it hard to see our group and keep it together.

Hope that helps if you have any questions about Haber products please feel free to ask me.

Haven't tried orange but I like my yellow/yellow 509 lenses better than the chrome/yellow.(although the chromies look way cooler)

Also like the yel/yel better than the scott 89xi rose in low light. I use the rose on bright days.

I like the rose color for flat light and foggy conditions.

I use mirrored with blue for the bright blind your eyes day.

Have tried yellow for the flat light and drizzle days and I like that also...but I think that the rose lets you see more in the day and the yellow works well for coming out in the evening.

Interesting to read about Orange tinted lenses, I never would have thought to use that color. My wife and I both have had problems in low light with the Chrome/Yellow 509 lenses and decided to pick up clear lenses because 509 does not have rose or persimmon which we both have had luck with in the past. We may have to give orange a try.

oakley recommends amber / persiminom (SP??) which is a shade of orange. In my experience, that has been the best colour. It is kinda surprising because the lens seems a little dark but it gives very good definition.

Laserlite Gold is what I like, works great on our crazier riding days.

I have the 509s with the polarized lens and Spy with Pink lens.

the pink seems to be the better when the light is VERY flat.

But I have also ordered a pair of the Habervision Prima/Eliminator:Carbon-Polarized Optic Orange Goggles....

Rose works the best for me. I have 8 lenses in my pack. Amber, yellow, green, red, clear, polarized, rose, and multi? (it changes with the light conditions) and the rose works the best.

On a side note my Scotts also work better than any Habervision or 509 that I have tried but that is just me.

You are one of those guys huh!! :p I am kind of the same way.. though where did you get green? ;)

Looks like I am going to have to get some new goggles. Dang Scott 83's don't have a rose lens available... what a crock!

Good info guys, remember, we are talking about FLAT LIGHT only.

I love looking at the world through Rose coloured lenses!!!But they all suck IMHO in flat light.:face-icon-small-hap

I recently purchased the Dragon goggles with the Aurora/blue ion lens and so far they have been pretty good with flat light, before them it was my rose tinted, but not been able to find replacements.

Sunday we were in fog and flat light and that S*CKED!
