does M1000 really produce 192 hp with pipe and can?

Just wanted to ask all the M1000 riders out there if they knew how much hp the M1000 makes with twins and or single pipe setup I'm switching from polaris to ArcticCat and am wanting reliable horsepower

If a pipe set EVER produces the kind of unbelievable gains they claim, I will be amazed. Seat of the pants, yes, they make more power than stock, but the limited changes required in clutching says you gain around 6-8 horsepower, maybe even 10 if you want to stretch it. I switched from Poo ths year too, good move!

no way....i've helped develope a number of singles and twins for different applications in snowmobiling, bikes, and atvs....all with one of the best pipe/dyno shops in the west....so absolutely so way will a single pipe and can on an m-1000 produce that kind of corrected hp....on the m-1000 in particular, the d&d y-pipe made 8.1 hp over stock, the cpi single made just short of 7 and the can added l.5 for a total of 183.5 (stock was about 168)....compression added a couple, but other than a quick squirt off the line, did nothing up the hill....good trail porting will add another 5, airbox will pick up 3....other wild claims are messing with the dyno and the numbers in order to sell product....but the m-1000 with these mods and lightened up a bit is a very dependable and capable mountain sled

y pipe

If you just wanted to just add the y pipe, can you run it all by itself or do you need a pressure regulator or boondocker? Dumb question but if you need these what are you tring to do (increase rail pressure?, or run it richer with boondocker?).

Thx,

I can't see it producing any HP without a pipe and a can!!!! Sorry, could not resist.

Anywhoo, No. 30HP from a single pipe is not likely. I think that pipe, y pipe, and can with some porting and head mods along with good clutching and Boondocker settings is gonna be tought to beat. In fact, I don't think another naturally aspirated sled will beat it in the trees. By that I mean any of the current sleds with bolt ons, don't come at me with the 1200 Watercraft motors etc that weight 250LBS. I know there are naturally aspirated sleds out there that will be the 1000, but not the Dragon, the XP etc.

Speedwerx is clearly superior in performance on M1000 single pipes. Jaws for the twins. The SLP offers awesome fit and finish, but not as much power as the Speedwerx. We also noticed that the Speedwerx gets better the more porting and head mods are introduced.

i will pipe in and say speedwerx setup made my 1000 come alive.it flatout leaves the stock sleds behind.

I didn't think it was the Single pipe that produced 192...

It was twins. I had a speedwerx king kat 1000 (990) and it made somewhere in the neighborhood of 190, but with 50/50 110, and twin pipes, bored carbs, and vforce reeds, and reed spacers. Hard to believe any sled could make that much power with a single, unless its a turbo! John

Ride with a bunch of M1000 about every other weekend. A couple have the Speedwerx and a couple have the SLP. In most cases the SLP will out perform the Speedworx. From what I have seen, it takes porting to make the Speedwerx run with the SLP. I dont know who makes more power, but the SLP's seam to be a better performing product. And your right, they fit better. One of the guys just ditched his Speedwerx for the SLP. We ride 6000-10,000ft, All 163" tracks. I have run them both. When they are both dialed in, they run real close, but the SLP just seem to be a bit better. They seemed easier to dial in as well. Maybe that is just because SLP is located in the west, not sure.

All this from SLP and sleds with a 163???????

194

d & d y, dogbarker can, single pipe w/ bd. that's what d and d told me, straight from one of the d's.

they ve got it all dialed in, porting gets you x, reeds get you y, etc.

i almost ported this year but am going to sno check an 09. they keep changing the porting for the greenies so you almost have to to get the snap and pop you are looking for anymore out of the box
