So Did not ride much last year due to getting hurt, took the sled to WY the other week. It has always been a heavy oil user, but kinda crazy this time around. Oil light flashing just a bit before the fuel gauge hit the reserve mark. (D7 only used about 1/3 tank of oil followed me all day, trail riding back still kinda messed up)
Today tore into sled, at first marks did not line up (i used an endoscope to look) messed with the throttle, pushed the lever back with long screwdriver after removing belt and clutch, markes lined up...push throttle a few times and markes not lined up any more......then push throttle a few times and let it SNAP back marks line back up.....put it all back togeather, cleaned up puddle of oil on floor.
So what you think?
Leave it be?
Run cheaper oil and clean VES more?
Is extra oul whats keeping the D8 Togeather? 1500 miles on Mountian tech kit.
