Crankshafts in different sleds

I have a 1998 powder special and the crank broke, will a 2002 zl 600 ss crank fit in my sled? Thanks for any help

no it will not. your 98 engine case is called an A case, the 02 is called a B case. the B case has larger crank bearings then the A case.

The cranks on that engine seemed bad, (mine was), when mine went the one they gave me wouldn't fit, seems like they upgraded them right away to larger bearings.

The top end and ignition from the A engine will fit on a B crankcase though if you find a crank and case together.
