Conditions of Crowsnest Pass?

Anyone been to Crowsnest Pass in the last two weeks?

With the snow coming this weekend I am tempted to head down for a weekend ride. The last time I did this at the end of March the conditions were fabulous. However I'm wondering if the warm temps since have melted more than we may get in new snow this weekend.

Looking to stage at York Creek or Atlas....for those who have recently been and can provide condition info.

Thanks

Rode last sunday. NK pass. Lot's of snow back in the bowls. Anything facing south on the access in can have long stretches of grass, rock and logs.

went 2 weekends ago and it was good. it's snowing like crazy outside my house right now (1 hour east of the mountains). anyone go riding last weekend? where did you stage from?

its been snowing in the mountains last couple of days, rode ptolemy last weekend, very good, should be very good weekend

Riding Powder King BC

Going to Powder King BC tomorrow probably last ride but there is a lot of snow there I have friends booked a trip there for the long week end in may there but heard the snow was awesome there last weekend so we'll see tomorrow.

Rode Atlas yesterday. Drove up the rode 3 kms from the staging area, Window Mountain had a foot of fresh snow. Conditions were super for this time of year. Planning another trip in 2 weeks.

Rode Fernie on Fri and Sat. There is definitely more snow this year than previous! We came into the pipeline from the Morrisey side, unloaded at about 4km past the first bridge. 8" of fresh at the notch but it was windy. Creeks were still mostly covered and it looks like we could be riding to the first part of June this year!

WOW! 4 kms from the bridge? that has to be getting kinda close to the "Y" where it splits for the cat skiiing off to the left no? Hows the trail in?

We unloaded about 1/2 way between the first big switch back (there is another bridge here too) and the cat ski buildings. The trail was decent, bumpy but decent. The cat has quit going in so it is a bit choppy but certainly not that rough...yet:face-icon-small-hap

better snow on the alberta side

Good day. Any chance of getting some directions to the area you guys were sledding at? Would sure appreciate it. Thank you!

Thanks. 5 of us are going to head out that way tomorrow I know where Westcastle etc is. Just wanted some accurate directions to where the people in the pics were sledding at.:)

As you pull into Westcastle (the ski hill) there's a lot on the left hand side where you can park and stage. Now that the hill is closed though I'm sure you can park in their lot, but it depends on how much snow is on the ground. The trail in runs beside the hostel.

Where did you guys stage from?

Pics look like the wellsite to me.......Go south, you can't miss it.......wide open space before you sidehill, drop, climb, up and over middle Kootenay pass.........Oh the memories!

staged right at the lodge and scooted down the trail on wednesday. no bare spots. have fun
