ok i had a driveshaft bearing start to go on my alpine turbo apex..2007.about 35 miles in the middle of nowhere..and while driving out,i got a check engine light [yellow triangle] flashing. starting it up, while idling it was flashing 84..42..and while driving it just flashes 42 nonstop..while decelerating it would stop but go again after about 4-6 secs..i did drive it out and the bearing im sure is permantly welded to my driveshaft..what is this code..or is it just telling me i fried a bearing.. thanx for any info... chris.

84 is tors & 42 is speed sensor probly took out your speed sensor with the bering gone & tors is coming on because your throttle cable is to tight by the sounds of it.

thank you for that info..since i have only 1600 miles on this and about 600 boosted..im thinking im replacing the driveshaft bearings every season for cheap insurance..

Yep I'll be doing bearings every year as well. Mine shredded the driveshaft bearing back in the bush quite a ways, had to leave it there overnight and tow it out the next morning. Not a bad idea when you push the kind of power through these things that we are these days. These don't have a zerk on them but I hear there is a way to pack them somewhat, at least to keep water out of them.

i drove mine out 35 miles..im sure when i take it apart ill be replacing the jackshaft also..my belt was toast by the time i got back to the trailer..im thinking that 310 hp kept me going even though it was grinding and ratchiting the track the last hour..
