Chaincase question

So i was ridin down the trail today and had a funny feeling and a vibration, so i stopped and looked under the hood....nothing seemed out of order but just out of precaution(and past experiences) i pulled the dipstick on the chaincase. i barely started to pull on it and it blew out of the case and spit hot oil all over me and everything around. I am a little confused as to why this happened. I tipped it up on its side and pulled the cover off. Everything looked ok, chain was a lil tight, but not bad. Lower gear retaining bolt was a little loose and had been milling on the cover a little, but not bad at all. This is a mod sled, with SLP race twins, and a Wicked Racin chaincase.

The only explanation that i have is that the case was overfilled and the heat from the pipes caused it to expand and build pressure.

Anyone else have an idea?

thanks,
