Carbs

Will carbs from a 99 ZR 600 fit a 98 Powder Special 600? The only thing that I see that might be different is the Center to Center of the intakes? Anyone know?

carbs

They should bolt right up. You will have to change the rubber mounts that bolt to the reed valves also. The flatslide carbs have a larger outside diameter tube where they fit into the flange. Throttle and choke cables will need to go with the flatslides also, the round slide ones will be different. The engines are basically the same from 98 to 99 so you shouldn't have to make any jetting changes. Hope this helps.

i just did the same with my 98 bottom and modified my 40mm polaris IQR carbs and stole parts from my F5 carbs, F5 carbs hit the side mound and steering shaft as the polaris ones dont hit nothing and i just shaved some of the intake boot to make them sit in good, seems to work good sled didnt hick up or anything yet its a 720 so who knows but everything from all those years even the 2000 and up with the apv will work just different jetting

Is the PS a carb sled to begin with? you cant just throw a set of carbs on an EFI sled and expect it to work

Good point turbo, they will not cross as I just did some good modification to my wiring to convert it to a carb set up, power source is slightly different, you going round sir flat slides? Flats make a worlds of difference
