Yesterday, a snowmobile came over on the rider during a climb, and killed him. Avys aren't the only deadly danger snowmobilers face. See attached story from Craig (Colorado) Daily Press.


Condolences to his (yet unidentified) family and friends suffering from this unusual accident.

A family friend lost his young adult son to a similar accident. Machine flipped over backwards and suffocated him.

In the last two years, three of my riding group have had sleds flip over and pin them in the track trench. I had it happen almost a decade ago. In a deep trench, with handlebars pinning you down, you aren't going anywhere. All of us were lucky to have nearby riders to extricate the stuck victim.
