By intense do they mean completely tracked up with no base and landmines every where?
Rode between Rabbit Ears and Buff Pass this weekend. Up high there is 3'-4' of snow with absolutely no base. My turbo sled dug a trench all the way to the dirt.
It is definitely ridable and there aren't bare spots like some other areas in Colorado , but you just have to be careful as their are exposed rocks and stumps and a lot lurking just below the surface.
Well, Rabbit ears today
We rode the ears today. Spent most of the day in untracked meadows and trees. Had a great time, and this was a full week after the last storm!
We stayed on the east side of the ears kept going north. Very few tracks off the trail NE of the actual Ears.

I rode RE Sat. Still very low snow. Lots of land mines, saw a few sleds with busted front ends. Didn't ride Sun but driving over looked like 6" of fresh. Any little bit helps.
Gettin any better?

It's getting better if you know where to go. Sunday Right of the cat track is pretty beat up by OOS'ers, but we found some really deep snow. Be careful, group set off avy on Sunday.

sounds like alot of snow forcasted for rabbitears/buff pass but looks like the wind will prevent any riding.
Just finished 4 day of riding here. Excellent riding. Today the snow is rediculous deep. Crazy deep fresh!

How’s the wind?
