Brake Reservoir Leaking

Has anybody had there brake reservior leak on the rmks or dragons. I have an 08 600 rmk and my reservoir is leaking. It is leaking out where the line screws into the reservoir and yes the line is tight. The worst part is that brake fluid will take paint off. I noticed it leaking last week and it will leak some just sitting but if you trailer it at all it is really noticable. I am gonna call up the dealer on monday. Should I ask for a new line or reservoir or both. This should be covered under warranty shouldn't it? I need to have this fixed before I head out West. Wouldn't be a lot of fun going down a hill and find out I have no brake.

I have a 08 700 RMK gave my SN to the local dealer and he said that there is a recall for my reservior and handle bar warmers, mine isn't leaking but I am going to get it done anyway!!

When you say reservoir its probably the OIL tank reservoir. It leaks around the sending unit and they install an oversized grommet. I need to get both service bulletins done on my yet too.

I would try bleeding the brakes first down at the caliper. If that doesn't fix it, then I would bring it in especially if you have an extended warranty. I am bringing mine in for the two service bulletins and then they are gonna fix the break leak under warranty.

It will be warranty, don't ask for any new parts, ask that they fix the leak.
Stop trailering with the brake on, use tie downs instead.

I use both hold downs on the skis and usually lock the parking brake. Why shouldn't I be using the parking brake? just curious since most of the people I ride with lock the brake while trailering.

I dont trailer anymore with the park brake on and brake has not leaked since. I was told this by a polaris tech and he was right. 2003 800 rmk.

Well I brought my snowmobile in to the dealer late tuesday afternoon and they called me this morning to tell me what they all found. First they said that they had both service bulletins completed. They had also figured out where the brake leak was coming from. They said they were going to replace the complete brake assembly since it would be cheaper than rebuilding it. I guess it was leaking pretty good inside there they said. The only problem is that the part is backordered until Feb 6. But at least it will be fixed and there is no good snow here (hard as a rock) in northwest Iowa to ride on anyways but we have our annual radar run on Feb 8 so I am hoping it shows up on or before Feb 6.

Update

Well my dealer called today. They said that the reservoir/master cylinder assembly came in yesterday after being back ordered for a week and a half. They installed the new one, bled the brakes, and tried it out. They said that the new one was also leaking like the old one was. So they ordered another assembly today and it should be in on Friday, so hopefully this new one won't leak and I'll have my sled by Saturday. Seems odd that the new one leaked right off the bat.
