I sold my slp pipe and am back to a stock pipe. Took it out for a ride today and it bogged badly at elevation. Plugs looked wet. Not certain if jetting is the issue but I may as well get it right. Currently, I have 520's installed as per SLP.

I have a 2003 700VES engine c/w v force 3 reeds and pod filters. I also have an ataac so I am looking for the base jetting. V Force does not recommend rejetting unless necessary.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have an 04 800VES with reeds/ataac, air box mod (no pods) and SLP pipe. Your base jetting for mains should be based on the lowest alt and temp (usually -29C). That said if it is charted as 520 for mains, it seems too big. try jetting down a bit.

What altitude is your ATACC being baselined at, and what is your riding altitude?? I do know you are fat, that is way fat for even sea-level.

i normally ride 3,000 - 8,000 feet and don't like to ride in less than 0 F. I think that is pretty much what factory jetting is set for. The Ataac says to jet for your lowest elevation and your coldest temp so the base setting should be good.

250 mains is way leaner than my current 520. I am shocked at how much more fuel you need for SLP pipes because their chart says 520 for 0-3,000 feet and -29F. Thinking about it again, I probably installed 510 or even 500 last year because I don't ride much in less than 3,000 elevation.

Would being that rich cause the sled to completely bog at elevation? The plugs were pretty wet, even after putting in new plugs, it would get wet within a minute.

being rich will make your sled bog at any elavation. I have an 02 700 and i run 440's with atacc, with cpi twins, rkt head, gutted air box from 3-7000. The 03s had different needles so you can run about 4 to 5 sizes leaner on your main jet then an 02 sled, so I would say you are way rich with a stock pipe. probably be around 330-340 would be safe, Mine came with 350s from the factory for I think 5-8000 ft and it was on the fat side
