Bar height on 2022 Alpha and skid plates

I am looking at Cats web page and I am not seeing info on riser options For 2022 Alpha. If the bar height is not adjustable, does anyone know the distance from floorboard to the top of handgrips?

Also looking for skid plates. Maybe they are not needed since they offer the bumpers which cover the front.

The Cat website sucks for finding parts and accessories. I always just look up part numbers from the catalog. Haven't seen a 2022 catalog released yet though. Seems it usually trails behind the sleds a bit.

The skid plate is more of a help for the brake and chain case that hang way down on the ascender. I've hit my chain case twice now bad enough to lose oil if I wasn't already running a belt drive. Thats with just the stock guards in place. Never really had issues hitting things with any other sled I've had before.

Use the search function on the cat websight, search ‘catalog’. Only way I could find the 2022 version. Here is a link (hope it works) - https://issuu.com/tsvcustomerservice/docs/2022_ac_snow_catalog_lowres_garad

I run the skid plate. It adds weight but does a great job protecting the lower case and brake. Also I’ve seen the lower belly pans get ripped open pretty easily so after that I’ve always run the ski plate.

What bar height is perfect?

Stock riser is 4.5 inches. Approx height front front of boards to top of bar is 36 3/4 inches.

I’m just under 6’4” and the stock riser is right where I like it. Just slightly bent over when standing or bend the knees a bit.

Thanks. I am 6’3”. My current bars are 37” and I have always felt like another 3/4” would be perfect but they are close enough to mine I am not concerned. Everyone has their own idea what perfect is for them.

I would want the skid plate and it didnt appear to be an option while building a 2022. Doo and Poo have that option when doing their builds, plus tunnel bags and many other things.

Is Cats Pro Kit $390 something to get or would a person be happier going aftermarket on the tunnel bag, handlebar bag and front bumper?

I run the same front bumper and handle bar bag. I really like both. The bumper doesn’t hold much snow, which I was worried about. I do not like the cat tunnel bag - sold it before even using.

Negociate with your dealer on the accessories when you snowcheck. Ask for a discount or free install. ?
