I have a 1991 KX500 that I was running a 15 MH ST on last couple years, this year I'm going to a 19 ARO 129. I put the new track on and the chain slider doesn't line up. The sprockets look well lined up. I looked on the parts page and there is only the one chain slider part. Has anyone put an ARO kit on the older KX500? The spacers in the frame/engine have the thinnest one on the far right side so the kit can't be shifted anymore that way

TIA

no experience with kx500 but I did a bunch of street bikes.
You could just remove the “rib” around the chain slider so it’s smooth.

I’m guessing you are just on the extreme edge of even having the sprockets align

That rib is factory aligned with the chain on the jack shaft so you do have an alignment issue where the whole kit is too far left. Your swing arm spacers aren't right. It's really not a big deal though. You could modify the spacers if it bugs you.

Okay I guess I'll be shaving that Brazilian and going smooth, thanks

Eric there isn't any more room for the kit to go to the right, I'd have to start shaving down the side of the cast aluminum piece, it's almost touching the right side of the frame.

Guess I'll just have to keep an eye on the chain/sprockets for side wear
