ive had so many problems with this sled that i might sell, i have put $2500 this year just fixing things......had new pistons put it, needle and seeds, recoil, bearing, torque for front track springs, and new hyfaxs put in. are all race iqrs like this or what??????

and my running boards are cracked in some spots!!!!!!
u would think that on the race sleds they would be really strong!!!!

Im not trying to be mean or anything but some of the questions u have asked were some very simple common knowledge snowmobile maintenance questions. It seems as if u dont have very much experience with snowmobiles. That being said the iqr is probly not the best sled to start out on. It is one of the higher maintenance sleds but can be even worse if u dont know what u r doing. Hope this doesnt sound too harsh but im just stating what i see on here.

Agreed. I'm trying to put together a 440 in an IQR roller that was a modded sled at one point. I wonder how many people have done that, LOL. Anyway, the race sleds are w/o a doubt tougher sleds but also take a huge beating that mountain/trail sleds seldom see. Two strokes in general are high maintenance but are also very easy to learn compared to 4 strokes. Two strokes are also very rewarding because of the light weight, snappy power and awesome smoke!

thanks both of you

and ya im only 17 and have no clue about this stuff, the only thing im good at is riding the sled. so no offence taken

all i just wanna know is if the sled is gonna break everytime i ride it and i havent even been riding it hard.

and are these sled really bad on trails?????????

If you take care of it, it'll be unlikely it'll break on you. My boy Dpro has a 1000 trouble free miles on his 660 iqr this winter, it's totally an awesome sled.

i agree its an awesome sled and im taking care of it,

my dealer says that they arent made good mechanically for everyday use, because the racers tear them down after every race, so idk

should have looked it over pretty good cause some of them take a huge beating i no i race them but they are very reliable if u take care of them. some guys ride them in to the dirt and then sell them others look like they came off the line. i wouldnt go back to a mountain sled i like the platform..

If the sled is mechanically good to start with theres nothing stronger and more durable out there.
It does take more mechanical aptitude to keep in good mechanical shape than others but its a give and take chassis.
I took a huge hit that a busted some ribs on and not a scratch on the sled, if i would have done that on my 09 RAW chassis it would have bent something major for sure. ZTrust me i bent alot of **** on that PILE.

well when i got it it had only been a practice sled and had about 3 hours on a track, hopefully im fine now with all the stuff i have replaced

and what timing dial are u supposed to run for 91 octane????
